This hole can’t get much deeper

This grief is such a sleeper

The jagged edges of my pain remember

Stinging time and time again I surrender

You stood next to my shoulder

But now the days will never see you older

When you passed one thousand eyes were left to glisten

But I can hear you when I’m wise enough to listen

Now I don’t have to wonder why you don’t call

There’s nothing now you don’t understand, you’re outside it all

I don’t have to think so hard to tell you how this one’s gonna go

You already know

One more time I bid farewell but I can tell that I’m hoping it’s a lie

Because it ain’t no lullaby,

So the story goes

Where we end up nobody knows

Scream out to the empty sky

No this ain’t no lullaby

Your way of simply knowing

Would justify my admiration growing

You found a way outside this world confining

Now your stars and silver moons go shining
